About The Run

The Run for ALD was organized by John J. Kane, Esquire, the former managing partner of the Philadelphia maritime and labor law firm of Freedman and Lorry, P.C, after he was diagnosed with the disease in 2001. Despite Jack’s death from ALD in 2003, the Run has continued through the efforts of family and friends. To date the Run for ALD has donated more than $130,000 to the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a non-profit hospital whose doctors and scientists are leaders in the effort to prevent, treat and cure ALD and other neurogenetic diseases.

Mark Kordich of AccuRun Systems has served as the Race Organizer of the Run for ALD since its inception in 2001. The current Board Members of Run for ALD, Inc. are:
